Privacy Policy

Keirsdad is a trading name of Rabblepop Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17361712), registered office 320 Firecrest Court, Centre Park, Warrington, WA1 1RG. Rabblepop Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here.

What you put into the tools — your habits, decisions and texts — is stored on your device. It only leaves your device if you turn on sync.

Each tool also sends us an anonymous weekly count, which you can turn off, and an error report if something breaks. This website loads Google Analytics only if you accept cookies. Each is described below, and every item stored on your device is listed under “Cookies and storage”.

All tool data (habits, journal entries, decisions, texts) is stored in your browser's IndexedDB. Without sync it never leaves your device, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data for the tool's site.

Until you turn sync on, the tools do not contact Dexie Cloud at all. If you turn on sync, we ask for your email address and send you a one-time code to log in. Your tool data is then copied to our sync provider, Dexie Cloud, so it can reach your other devices. Dexie Cloud stores it on Microsoft Azure servers in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the UK extension to it.

Data is encrypted in transit. It is not end-to-end encrypted: it is stored on Dexie Cloud's servers in a form that Dexie Cloud, and we as the operator of the database, are technically able to access. We do not read, sell or analyse your synced data, and we only access it if you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it.

We use your email address to log you in, to run your subscription, and to contact you about your account. We do not use it for marketing.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly; we never see or store them. We receive your email address, the status of your subscription and your payment history. Stripe's own privacy policy covers how they handle your payment data.

To see whether the tools are useful and whether people come back, each tool keeps a few numbers on your device: the week you first opened it, the last week it reported, and how many times you have used its main features since it last reported (for example, how many texts you created or practice sessions you started). Once a week at most, it sends us those numbers, which tool it is, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, then resets them. The first time it reports, it also sends a rough category for how you found Keirsdad: Reddit, a search engine, an AI assistant, direct, or other. It never sends the address you came from. No identifier, nothing you write, no recordings, and nothing at all until you have closed the notice. PostHog processes these counts for us in the European Union.

The first time you open a tool, a notice tells you about this, and nothing is counted until you close it. You can turn it off at any time in each tool's settings, which also deletes everything it has kept.

If something breaks, Sentry, our error monitoring service, records what went wrong: the page, your browser and device type, and the technical details of the error. This is how we find and fix faults, including ones that could lose your data. It sets no cookies. Sentry processes this for us in the European Union and keeps it for 30 days.

This website (keirsdad.com) asks before setting any analytics cookies. If you accept, it loads Google Tag Manager, which loads Google Analytics, and Google may process the data in the United States, under the UK's data bridge or standard contractual safeguards. We keep analytics data for 14 months. If you reject, none of this loads. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Everything Keirsdad stores on your device:

• Dexie Cloud — sync (United States, Microsoft Azure).
• Stripe — payments.
• PostHog — anonymous usage counts (European Union).
• Sentry — error monitoring (European Union).
• Google — analytics on this website, only after you accept (may be United States).
• Vercel — hosting for the tools and this website, which logs IP addresses and requests in standard server logs for a limited period.

Sync account and payment data: to perform our contract with you. Anonymous usage counts and error monitoring: our legitimate interest in keeping the tools working and improving them. You can object to the usage counts at any time by turning them off in a tool's settings. Google Analytics on this website: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Synced data and your sync account are kept while you have an account. Payment records are kept for six years, as UK tax law requires. Error reports are kept for 30 days. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Usage counts are kept by PostHog for its standard retention period. Ask us and we will delete your sync account and synced data.

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects sync subscribers significantly, we will email them first.
